Bharatheeyam Koottayma (Bharateeyam Community)
Welcome to "Bharateeyam Koottayma", a group of Hindu Malayalis living in Delhi NCR.
The Malayali Hindu community, still today, remains an educated diaspora community that is fragmented due to caste and other socio-political differences. Due to this, many of us are witness to many incidents which reveal the spiritual, social, cultural and mental difficulties faced by Malayali Hindus. When these are combined with the problems faced by the new generation, this points to the truth that the bright future of the Malayali Hindu community will face a major blow or set back.
Bharatiyam Kootayam is a small group formed on 20-Sep-2020 by 8 people at Mayur Vihar Phase 3 in order to share the plight or difficulties of Malayali Hindus in the region beyond all other differences and to find solutions through collective efforts. In order to achieve this goal, the interventions planned locally in the spiritual, social, cultural and psychological spheres are listed below.
Primary objectives:
💢Imparting Hindu/Keralite customs, rituals and lifestyles to the new generation with its characteristics and necessity.
💢Actions to ensure more Hindu involvement in temple affairs and spiritual programs in the locality.
💢Activities (ie. opportunities to interact with experts and great teachers etc.) for children growing up in local Hindu families to find pride in our cultural wealth and move forward with confidence.
💢Active involvement in economic, social and family issues arising in local Hindu families inside or outside our community.
💢To raise a generation of self-respecting Hindus beyond caste mentality with qualities like discipline, good manners, helpfulness etc. in general.
